Financial education is important because financial ignorance is one of the biggest bills you'll ever pay.

I've noticed with bad credit you pay more in interest, credit takes time to build ,time to repair, and that it has to be worked on before its needed. Invest in yourself!

Get a free consumer report from the Consumer Reporting Agencies. It's free and comprehensive. www.annualcreditreport.com. Review! One of the first things I check for is accuracy in my personal information. I make sure my name is spelled correctly. Secondly I make sure there are no alias names that potentially might hurt my credibility with a credit lender. If there is, I'll prepare a letter to send the Consumer Reporting Agencies with a copy of my primary, unexpired ID such as: my drivers license or passport and a letter requesting to remove inaccurate, misspelled and multiple or alias names. I also check for accuracy on my date of birth and address. Making sure my date of birth is accurate and my current address is on file, and that there are no irrelevant, inaccurate address's. If there is irrelevant or inaccurate address info. I would also include that in the letter, with an updated proof of address, such as my utility bill from Con Edison for example with a request to remove the inaccurate address info. Make informed financial decisions.
